Hugh Hefner Regained Control of His Playboy Business Empire

Hugh Hefner has regained control of his Playboy business empire in a massive multi-million dollar deal with shareholders. The publishing mogul, who set up the company more than 50 years ago, has been involved in months of negotiations to regain a majority stake in the firm.

The 84 year old has now reportedly offered up $207 million to take increased shares in Playboy, according to TMZ.com. The Playboy Enterprises encompasses the monthly magazine, Playboy-branded TV and radio shows, casinos and merchandising.

"With the completion of this transaction, Playboy will come full circle, returning to its roots as a private company," Hefner said. "The brand resonates today as clearly as at any time in its 57-year history. I believe this agreement will give us the resources and flexibility to return Playboy to its unique position and to further expand our business around the world."

Revived The Investigation into The Murder of Rap Legend Notorious B.I.G.

Police in California have reportedly revived the investigation into the murder of rap legend Notorious B.I.G., 13 years after he was gunned down in Los Angeles. The hip-hop star, real name Christopher Wallace, was shot dead in L.A. in March, 1997. An investigation was launched immediately after the fatal shooting but the matter remains unsolved.

Various conspiracy theories have linked his death to the East Coast/West Coast rap rivalry involving former Death Row Records mogul Marion Suge Knight and his top artist Tupac Shakur, who was shot and killed less than a year before Biggie's death.

Officers at the Los Angeles Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are now said to be actively pursuing new leads relating to the case and working closely with the L.A. County District Attorney's Office, according to CNN.com.

A law enforcement source tells the network the probe was "reinvigorated" months ago as a result of new information.

Seemingly in the mood of party, Kim Kardashian and Miranda Cosgrove donned glittering dresses. The reality TV star opted a golden tone for her appearance that night, while the "iCarly" cutie opted a silver dress which was matched with her natural make up.

Emma Roberts, Niki Taylor, Raven Symone and Cat Deeley opted classic black outfits. Still, blonde model Niki managed to catch people's attention by baring her back despite the cold weather.

From the male camp, there were Zac Efron, Chris Colfer and Stephen Moyer who opted black and white ensembles. Shane West and Neil Patrick Harris also showed up in semi formal style, with the former tagging along a lady in black dress and the latter coming with his spouse David Burtka.

Also expected to show up at the annual prize-giving event were pregnant Natalie Portman, newlywed Katy Perry, Leighton Meester, Mila Kunis and Taylor Lautner.

Shania Twain has wed fiance Frederic Thiebaud in Puerto Rico. The couple rang in the New Year with the ceremony in Rincon on Saturday, January 1, just weeks after announcing their engagement. The pair started dating in 2009 and Twain announced the news of her engagement in a letter to fans she posted on her website last month.

She wrote, "I am excited to share some personal news with you; I'm in love! Frederic Nicolas Thiebaud has been a true gift to me as a compassionate, understanding friend and over time, an amazing love has blossomed from this precious friendship."

David Arquette Enters Rehab

It seems that David Arquette wants to start 2011 as a sober man. He has checked into rehab during the holiday weekend, his representative confirms. The actor partied at Beacher's Madhouse at the Roosevelt Hotel on New Year's Eve before entering a live-in facility, TMZ reports.

While his representative says "no further information" would be released, a source reveals that David needs help with alcohol and other issues. "He is in there for drinking and depression, not hard drugs. Rehab was inevitable," says the source of the "Pushing Daisies" star who split from his wife Courteney Cox in October 2010. "He is dealing with a broken heart. He can't handle all the changes in his life. All his inner demons came out."

He reportedly took this move for the sake of his family as another source dishes, "He's trying to win Courteney back, and he turned back to drinking again out of frustration. He is doing this to show her he means it and will do anything for her and Coco. He wants his family life back. It's been so hard on him."

Previously when having an interview on Howard Stern's radio show, the 39 year old revealed that his psychologist, whom he sees once a week, believed he was having a "nervous breakdown". He additionally admitted he'd been "drinking a lot" following his failed marriage revelation.

Despite announcing their separation, David Arquette and Courteney Cox who tied the knot on June 12, 1999 have not planned to divorce yet. The couple has a daughter together, 7-year-old Coco Riley Arquette.
